The Masters' starting time was postponed to Friday, April 11th because of rain. This is only the second time the Masters has ever been postponed. Play on Friday only got partway through the second round before play was called due to darkness.

Tiger Woods was going for his third green jacket, but ended the first round 10 points behind the first leader. By the end of the day it was Mike Weir from Canada in the lead, holding 4 under par after 12 holes into the second round. He was 2 shots ahead of Darren Clark, who was 2 under par at 10 holes.

Mike Weir is left handed, and no left handed golfer has ever won the Master's Tournament.

The second round will finish Saturday afternoon, at which point a player cut will take place. Those players who make the cut will move on to the third round.
