Easter Egg Sugar Cookies Recipe
Easter cookies are perfect for decorating with the little ones - or for providing with fancy decorations for a party.
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup shortening
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash salt
Icing:
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Milk
Desired food coloring
Belnd together the butter and shortening. Add in a cup of flour. Now add in sugar, egg, milk, baking powder and vanilla. When full mixed in, add in salt and remaining flour.
Cover dough and put in fridge for 3 hours. Take a portion of dough to roll out to a 1/8th sheet. Use an egg-shaped cutter to create cookies. Bake on sheet at 375F for 8 minutes. Cool thoroughly.
Mix together all icing ingredients and ice each cookie. You can leave out food coloring to make a base white frosting, then use other colors to decorate with. Sprinkles work well too.
