Ovulation is when the egg is released from the ovary. It is the key thing to watch for when you are trying to conceive. Your conception will take place a few days after ovulation.
To determine when you are ovulating, keep a conception calendar. Mark DAY 1 as the first day of your period. From that point forward, make note of DAY 6, which is around when your period will end and when your body will release FSH to start your next egg being prepared.
Your ovulation day is typically on DAY 14. When taking your temperature daily, you will find that your temperature rises slightly on this day. You might feel some cramps, and might have a few spots of blood. This day and the next 2-3 are when the egg is moving down the fallopian tube, and are when you should make love to have sperm ready to meet that egg.
