The Pretender
BBC Series Robin Hood
The Queen is cast out for a 12 year old - something any woman over the age of 12 can relate to and feel angst about. What is it with guys and pre-teen females that they can control? The Sherrif deals with a dog bite while the ex-Queen plans to put her "pretender" guy - Arthur, nephew to ex-King Richard, on the throne.
Arthur tries to convince the Hood Gang to ambush the kiddie. The Sherrif realizes that everyone will be killed if this goes through. In the meantime, somehow Arthur and Robin get into a fight and Robin runs off. It seems insane - the others say they'd rather stay with Arthur the newcomer.
Now Robin and the Sherrif are working together, because the Sherrif doesn't want the new Queen killed, and Robin of course does not want to die as the culprit. Sir Guy is hanging out at the Abbey, waiting to slay Robin & clan once the "deed is done".
Turns out the new Queen is a psycho, laughing at the thought of people she saw slain. Still, she rewards Robin and his crew with their freedom for keeping her from death. They should have let her die! Arthur wasn't even the real Arthur - he was just a fake.
Not a very memorable episode.
