Adam Bell
BBC Series Robin Hood

Much is caught and dragged in to the Sherrif. The sherriff decides to hang him as a birthday present for his nephew. In short order an "older" outlaw, Adam Bell, kidnaps the child. We learn about the Sherriff's younger brother, a pious man who died and left the child - Martin - plus 1500 acres. The two are tied in a will. So therefore the Sherriff wants the kid back.

Robin gets convinced to go after the child in order to get Much back. That pits him directly against Adam. Adam wants to get the gold - and Robin refuses to say why he wants to get the child back. Now Robin worries that in 20 years he will turn into a cynical man like Adam. In the meantime, the child's mom prays to have her son brought back safely.

They have to fight with staves, and of course Robin wins. He and his gang leave with the child. The next thing you know, the Sheriff tries to double-cross Robin, Robin gets both Much and the child, and Alan leaps in to defend the fleeing outlaws.

Of course, the child decides Robin is great, the mom is happy to have her sweet son back again, and the Sheriff's plan is foiled. Adam dies nobly, defending the group.

It's an OK episode, with its Robin angst about his future, but I'm starting to sense the beginning of the end here.
