Kwisatz Haderach
The Kwisatz Haderach is the aim of all of the Bene Gesserit breeding programs. They deliberately seduce men and women in various families in order to produce children with the proper characteristics. They have been doing this for 10,000 years with the intention of creating this 'utimate being' which they can control.
Unfortunately for them, only one generation away from victory, Jessica has a boy instead of a girl. The result is that Paul takes on those powers and refuses to be controlled by the Bene Gesserit.
