Fanny Dashwood - Sense and Sensibility
Fanny Dashwood is one of the only really "bad" characters in the story, and even there she's mostly greedy. Her husband has just inherited a fortune, and she doesn't want to share any of it with his half sisters or stepmother. She is even iffy about being seen socially with the other relations.1995 Sense and Sensibility
Fanny is nicely snooty and uppity. Her little ringlets are just so around her face, and she doesn't want a speck of dirt on her. She makes her case to her husband about keeping all the money in a smooth and gentle way, luring him into the decision.
2008 Sense and Sensibility
Fanny is fastidious, and I love those little ringlets! You definitely get the sense that she was raised in wealth and spoiled.

1981 Sense and Sensibility
The beauty of Fanny in the other ones is that she is deliciously manipulative. She was raised in high class society and was bred to the bone in all the methods of getting what she wanted in a subtle way. In this one she is just crass and rude. She is nasty rather than subtle. She does retain the ringlets.
