Lady Catharine DeBurgh
Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen
Lady Catharine DeBurgh is the richest person in the story. She is extremely independent and powerful, which normally I would admire in a woman. She is raising her daughter all by herself. However, she actively interrupts and puts down others around her, wants to surround herself only with yes-men, and walks into other peoples homes and tells them specifically how to arrange their closets.
Her daughter is supposed to marry Darcy - but Darcy has little interest in this. When Lady Catharine realizes that Darcy is interested in Lizzie, she marches right out to tell Lizzie to get lost. Lizzie will have no part of this.

Lady Catharine in the BBC Miniseries - this outfit is rather ostentatious for the period, especially the necklace, but maybe you can say that this is the way she was :)
