Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte

Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte It's amazing that, when Wuthering Heights was published in 1847, that it wasn't considered a good book. Fast forward a hundred and fifty years or so, and now readers appreciate what Emily Bronte was saying. She wasn't describing a world of quiet gentlemen and flirtatious ladies, a la Jane Austen. As much as I adore Jane Austen's works, Emily Bronte had a different kind of passion within her. Hers was raging and stormy, full of dark, swirling fogs and booming thunder. Her lovers loved out loud, with all their force, and they would trample down anyone in their path.

This edition here is the Longmeadow Press edition, released in 1983. It's a hardcover with leather binding. It's printed on acid-free paper and the pages have burgundy edges. It contains a black and white drawing of Emily Bronte as well as notes about her life.

Well recommended, both for the story itself, and for the quality of the book.
