Hydrangea Grandiflora
These Hydrangea Grandiflora bushes grow in Massachusetts. I can cut them back to the middle trunk practically in the late winter or early spring. It's amazingly able to rebound from even the most close prunings. Then in April to June it will send out long shoots with wide leaves. In August it begins to make the flower buds, which grow over the course of a few weeks. The hummingbirds love flying around these! They hang on all winter long unless I trim them off.
