There are TONS of things to do in this game, you can never get bored! Here are some suggestions:
See what chores people have for you to do. There are always messages to deliver and items to retrieve.
Write letters to everyone. They LOVE letters!!
Talk to everyone about random chit-chat. You never know what you'll learn.
Track down fish, insects, paintings, fossils for the museum. Different things are available at different times of day and different times of year, so things are always changing!
Work on your house. Coordinate the items, rearrange your furniture. Get it cozy!
Play different songs for the town. They like variety!
Plant trees and flowers, pick weeds. Plant an orchard. Your townsfolk like a fresh, growing world.
