Arenal Volcano Visit

Given that we only slept for 3 hours in a freezing cold car, we pretty much promptly fell asleep on our plane ride out of Philadelphia. We did wake up again as we came in over Costa Rica and came below the clouds, and I took a bunch of photos. I love landscapes :)

Most of what we saw were rolling hills with no homes at all. In the few spots where there were houses, they were metal rooved, with dirt roads and farmyards nearby.

As the plane was landing, we talked to another couple who was also heading to the Tabacon resort. They were renting a car and driving, and wondering if they should get a car phone. Given how many reports I'd read of people breaking down on dirt roads, getting lost on the unmarked roads, or both, I highly recommended having a car phone at least for emergencies. We wondered which of us would make it to the resort first - I had to wait for the shuttle, but they would take a while to drive the unfamiliar roads.
