HW ends up buying and running into trouble
Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues
Date of Incident: 2/18/2002
My husband and I toured Westgate 4 years ago on our honeymoon. We only did it to get the free tickets that we were going to buy anyway.. sounded like a good deal.. the salesman we had was new.. he was very very nice.. we were highly pressured and actually ended up buying a vacation package which was a 7 night vacation for $1150.
It is now 4 years later and we still haven't taken our vacation.. First, the salesman's boss said we could get a 3 night getaway for free if we would buy.. it took us 2 years to get that.. then when we got ready to take our vacation last year, the resort we were promised in Tennesse was not completed.. they said we could not take our vacation that year.. then when it was finally time to make reservations for this summer, they told us we could not.. that there were no vacancies.. Well, Lisa, I pitched a complete fit and threatened them with everything in the book.. Needless to say, I got my confirmation numbers... We are staying at Gatlinburg TN at Westgate this July.. Hopefully, it will go off without a hitch.. but who knows.. I'll let you know.. But anyway, I just wanted to let you know that if you would have bought from them it would have been nothing but a major hassle.. so you were lucky..
