Every single book in the Amazon system clearly shows what their sales values are. Each book’s entry is represented with its overall Amazon sales ranking. If you know what those sales ranking values are for a few books, it’s fairly straightforward to figure out the near-exact sales ranking values for any other book in the system. All you need are those starting point figures.
I have over 30 free books in the Amazon system. Here are my average daily download values for those books as well as their rankings, as of February 2021. This isn’t “secret” information. Enough authors and systems publish their numbers that it’s straightforward to figure out any book’s details. And I’m not sure why some authors feel this SHOULD be secret. We’ve always had top-selling lists and publisher reports for sales, to know how a book is selling. The more we understand how the numbers work, the better we can market our books effectively and reach our target audience.

This is a special situation. I ran a promo which boosted this up to 100/day for two days and then dropped to 60/day. Amazon is skeptical about short-term boosts which they figure isn’t “organic” sales. So your numbers are weighted due to that short term boost, to not fully rise you up to the ranking of people legitimately selling 100/day long term. I agree with their rationale here.

Let’s keep in mind that there are MILLIONS of Kindle Books in the Amazon system. So the vast number of authors are NOT distributing a copy of their book every day. If you’re fortunate enough to be in this high ranking area, remember to gather gratitude for your achievement! There are literally millions of authors out there who dream of achieving what you have.
If your aim is to sell more copies than you are now, then that generally comes down to marketing, marketing, marketing! So check out how effectively you are using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Use eye-catching images for your promotions. Use high-volume hashtags! And post daily!
