Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort in Walt Disney World

Once we had settled in at the Grosvenor, we headed out to dinner at the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort. This is one of the best resorts in the Disney complex - I personally would say it is THE best. The resort itself is *gorgeous* - full of high quality African artwork, fancy metalwork, and lush surroundings. Best of all, it has two private savanna areas that are completely separate from the Animal Kingdom park. You get your own giraffes and zebras!

There are many public areas and porches that you can see the animals from. We found two separate balconies that were deserted, with rocking chairs where you could sit and watch the animals for hours. If you want to spring for the pricey room, you can even have a balcony on your room overlooking the savanna, to watch the animals for hours and hours. Who needs a "park"?
