Luxembourg Tourism Tips

The small country of Luxembourg is hidden between Germany, Belgium, Amsterdam and France. Barely the size of Rhode Island, it boasts a culture all its own. The total land area of this country is only 999 square miles.

French is the official language here, although most speak German and English as well. There is actually a language distinct to Luxembourg - called Letzebuergsch - that the locals speak amongst themselves when they wish to keep private.

This country is a land of modern bankers and ancient ruins, with over 50 castles scattered in its hills. The Battle of the Bulge was fought here in World War 2, and George Patton was buried here with his soldiers. There are several wineries to visit - the Moselle has produced wine for over 2,000 years - and many restaurants to sample.
